This is the course page for Software Engineering (CS20202) and Software Engineering Lab (CS29202) course at IIT Kharagpur.

• 🔥 Syllabus for class test on 11-Apr-2025: Topics covered starting 13-Feb-2025 (Inheritance) until 28-Mar-2025 (Test Driven Development).
• 🔥 Syllabus for lab test on 11-Apr-2025: Basic concepts of Software Engineering & Programming in Python (you are expected to go through Python concepts covered in lab).
• 🔥 Project presentations are scheduled to be held on 4-April-2025. Please refer to moodle annoucements for details.
• The syllabus for the lab test on 14-Feb-2025 is until the topic 'namespaces'. Please also practice lcov, genhtml, catch2 and cmake.
• The syllabus for mid-sem is until the topic 'namespaces'
• For the lab on 07-Feb-2025, prepare until Friend Functions. Also brush up code coverage (lcov, genhtml) and unit testing using catch2.
• The class test on 31-Jan-2025 will be for 45 minutes and written on paper. Questions will be primarily based on some coding tasks.
• The first theory class test is scheduled to be held on 31-Jan-2025. The test will be held during laboratory hours. Please prepare the topics covered until 29-Jan-2025.
• As per institute order, laboratory will be held on 24-Jan-2025. You should prepare until Access Specifiers.
• Moodle website: (https://moodlecse.iitkgp.ac.in). This will be used for submission of Laboratory assignments and tests. Registration keys will be shared separately.
• Attendance is compulsory for all classes

• I realized later about a mistake I made during the lab/test. Can I send a correction later?
• You will be graded solely based on what you submit during the lab hours. A correction/explanation later will not be considered for grading.
• I missed a lab/test due to personal commitments or medical reasons. Can I get a compensatory lab?
• Unfortunately due to logistical reasons, compensatory labs are not possible.
• What is the grading scheme for the theory course?
• Class test: 20%
• Mid-sem: 30%
• End-sem: 50%
• What is the grading scheme for the laboratory course?
• Assignment: 50% (Equally distributed among 8 labs)
• Lab Test-1: 10%
• Lab Test-2: 10%
• Project: 30%
